Move water away from the foundation

Downspout Installation in Charleston, SC

Properly sized downspouts and extensions that carry roof water away from your foundation, walkways, and landscaping.

Gutters only do half the job — the downspouts are what actually carry the water down and away. Undersized or poorly placed downspouts are the reason so many homes still get foundation pooling and washed-out beds even with gutters installed.

Raines sizes and places downspouts to match the volume each run collects, then adds extensions, splash blocks, or underground drainage to move that water clear of your foundation, walkways, and landscaping.

Why It Matters

Protect the foundation

The whole point is getting roof water away from the slab. Proper downspouts and extensions keep it from collecting against the house.

Sized for the load

A long run feeding one small downspout will back up in a storm. We add outlets and upsize where the math calls for it.

Underground options

Where surface water is a problem, we can route downspouts into buried drainage that daylights well away from the house.

Kick-outs and diverters

Small details — like a kick-out where the roof meets a wall — stop water from running behind your siding.

Downspout Installation questions

How much does downspout installation cost in Charleston?
Every roof is different, so Raines prices downspout installation from a free on-site measurement. Call (843) 501-4063 and we'll come out, look at the job, and give you a straight number with no obligation.
Do you offer downspouts on new construction and existing homes?
Yes — we handle downspouts on both new builds and established homes throughout the Charleston Lowcountry.
What's the difference between seamless and sectional gutters?
Sectional gutters are pre-cut lengths snapped together every few feet, so they have a joint — and a potential leak — at each connection. Seamless gutters are rolled from one continuous coil to the exact length of your roofline, so the only joints are at the corners and downspouts. Far fewer seams means far fewer leaks over the life of the system.
Should I get 5-inch or 6-inch gutters?
Five-inch K-style handles most Charleston-area homes well. We recommend 6-inch when you have large or steep roof sections, lots of tree debris, or a history of overflowing in heavy storms — the bigger channel and larger downspouts simply move more water. We'll tell you which fits your roof when we measure.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. Call (843) 501-4063 and Blake will come out, measure your rooflines, and give you a free, no-pressure estimate.
